Campaign You have the right to ask your municipality
(You have the right to question your municipality campaign) in the Hebron Governorate.” The campaign targeted the city of Dura, the town of Ithna, and the town of Bani Naim.
Within the “Civil Society for Dignity” project, the Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy Issues concluded on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
With the participation of more than 100 young men and women for a period of 3 days in the aforementioned sites, the campaign activities were implemented, which included awareness meetings on the importance of community accountability, and then took to the streets at the sites and posted posters and talked with citizens about community accountability and distributed brochures to citizens and during the campaign and its activities.
The participants raised some problems in their local community, and expressed their need for more awareness campaigns on how to hold accountable.
The "Civil Society for Dignity" project is implemented by the Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy Issues, the Palestinian Center for Rapprochement between Peoples, the Middle East Center for Nonviolence and Democracy, and the Dutch Pax Foundation, with the support of the European Union.
The project is implemented in 24 towns and cities in the West Bank and the suburbs of Jerusalem.
It aims to bridge the gap between the citizen and the local authorities, and to enhance the role of youth and women in the process of community accountability.
