Eight training workshops
2 July, 2022
Last week, the Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy carried out eight training workshops on the political program of the Palestine Liberation Organization, "Two states for two peoples," with a group of grassroots institutions in all West Bank governorates, with a remarkable youth presence. In fact, this project came based on the needs of the younger generations from the age of 18 to the age of 35, as this age group did not enjoy the political education processes that were carried out by the political parties and civil institutions, especially since this group was also born after the adoption of the Palestinian peace program in 1988, represented by the Declaration of Independence, which was approved in Algeria by the Palestinian National Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization. The program of the Liberation Organization since 1988 has been committed to solving the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital, the Temple, on all the territories occupied in 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, through the implementation of all international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is Resolution 242 and 338.
During these training workshops, which were run by a team of Palestinian Center supporters who were trained for this purpose, they gave a short presentation that talked about the project, the importance of contributing to creating a public opinion in support of the PLO program "Two States for Two Peoples", and the importance of involving youth and grassroots institutions in general and youth in particular, to create a Palestinian public opinion that supports the organization’s program based on international legitimacy and international law.
As for the opinions of the participants in these training workshops, they were divided between supporters and opponents, and between those who know about this program and those who do not. In fact, we can say that the opinions of the citizens in attendance in general and the youth group in particular did not differ much from the results of the poll conducted by the Palestinian Center in cooperation with the Jerusalem Media and Communication Center, where the orientations of the political youth sector are moving away from what is in the vision of the Palestine Liberation Organization for a political solution.
These training workshops come as part of a group of 54 training workshops that are supposed to be completed by the end of July 2022, within the "Palestinian Youth for Peace" project supported by the European Union.
